Lions Club have teamed up to bring sight to those in need.

April 19, 2005 -- The Lions Fest 2005 will include the silent
auction of a Lasik Surgery Procedure. Dr. Selkin, of Selkin Laser
Center, is donating the Lasik Procedure, pre- and post-procedure
appointments and treatment, to the North Charlotte Lions Club. Dr.
Selkin, winner of the Neil Hellman Award for commitment to
humanistic values, has performed nearly 50,000 laser vision
corrections. Community focus is one of Dr. Selkin's priorities.
"With the proceeds from the Lasik Procedure Auction, the Lions can
fund their programs such as matching used glasses frames and lenses
and donating them to those who need them," explains Dr. Selkin.
"This helps many more people see than one Lasik procedure would
thanks to the Lions Club's programs and work," adds Selkin.
The first Annual Lions Fest will be held on Saturday, May 7, 11:00
am - 3:00 pm with the North Charlotte Lions Club hosting the event.
Lions Fest '05 is an occasion for the Lions of District 31-C to
unite to raise funds, enjoy food, fellowship and promote "Lionism."
There will be refreshments, a bake sale, raffle items, and carnival
like games. Lions Fest '05 invites the Charlotte Community to
experience the food and entertainment provided by Lions.
All proceeds will benefit the Lions Clubs to continue their pursuit
of being "Knights for the Blind." "We are looking forward to having
a memorable first annual Lions Fest," says, J. Philip Murph Jr. Lion
